See the repo here.
Everyday ArXiv is a daily arXiv assistant whose main interface is your AI coding agent (Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, etc.) rather than a CLI or a web UI. Clone the repo, open the folder in the agent, and ask in natural language.
It is a concrete example of the “next-generation software” discussed in this post: the software is not just generated by AI, it is designed to live with an agent.
- Python handles the deterministic work: fetching and caching arXiv metadata, Google Scholar bootstrap, writing stable files.
- Project skills tell the agent how to bootstrap a research profile, screen and close-read papers, generate ideas, check for missing citations, and record sparse feedback.
- Private local files encode the researcher’s taste, prior papers and long-term memory, and never leave the machine.
Three workflows cover daily use:
- Bootstrap: build a private research profile from Google Scholar, BibTeX, paper lists or notes.
- Daily ArXiv: fetch papers for any date and category, recommend what is worth reading, optionally close-read, propose ideas and flag papers that overlap with your work without citing it. Reports are written as Markdown and static HTML.
- Feedback Memory: record your reactions to papers and ideas, and promote only stable patterns into the long-term profile.
This is the agent-native successor of my earlier attempts on arXiv data, such as arxiv-analysis and some NLP tasks on arXiv data.
